Rescue 1122 receives 17020 fake calls in 2020

LAKKI MARWAT: The Rescue 1122 service received a 18534 calls in 2020 out of which 17020 were unnecessary and fake.
Releasing its annual performance report here on Friday, the District Emergency Officer Arif Khan Marwat said that Rescue 1122 responded to 1414 different types of accidents in a timely manner and provided facilities to the people during the emergency.
He said that Rescue 1122 had recovered 1069 medical, 256 road traffic accidents, 18 Covid-19 emergencies, 97 fires, 02 building collapses, 03 out of a total of 1414 patients in drowning and 44 different recoveries, 850 were safely transported to the hospital while 564 people were provided medical aid and facilities on the spot.
The DEO stated that the Rescue 1122 had been at the forefront of the Covid-19 epidemic and had ensured the provision of facilities to the people with a comprehensive strategy and disinfectant sprays at various public places as well as in the public.
He said that Rescue 1122 personnel and officers were also affected while fighting against the Coronavirus, adding that the services of Rescue 1122 would continue in the same manner and provision of all emergency facilities to the people would be ensured. He urged the people to support Rescue 1122 during emergencies and avoid fake and unnecessary calls.
