PESHAWAR: Renowned academician, researcher and Vice Chancellor Gandhara University Prof Dr Ijaz Hassan Khan Khattak has demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government for the renovation of great Pakhtun poet Khushal Khan Khattak’s mausoleum in Nowshera.

In a letter written to Provincial Information Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Kakakhel here the other day, Dr Ijaz Khattak has stated that a week ago, he visited the grave of great Khushal Baba and it really pained him to see the broken state of the historic monument, adding that the surrounding area of the grave had been made barren by stone crushers and other related laborers and such unchecked activity of the stone crushers was badly damaging the condition of the historic grave.

“You are, therefore, requested to urgently intervene and direct the relevant authority to ban any such work in the vicinity of the mausoleum and also ensure the beautification of the historic grave, as it possesses a lot of potential to attract tourists from across the world,” said the letter.
