F&B company asks compensation for damage in suicide blast

PESHAWAR: A Peshawar-based food and beverage company – Platinum Co. which is the owner of international fast food chain Mr Cod, and Piyali restaurants in Pakistan, has demanded the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the authorities concerned for financial aid after being affected in a suicide attack on Frontier Corps in Peshawar on July 18, 2023.

In a letter to the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali on Monday, the Managing Partner of Platinum Co. Muhammad Ayub Khan has urged for a compensation of PKR 20 million as during the attack on the vehicle of Frontier Corps in Hayatabad, the infrastructure of Mr Cod and Piyali outlets got seriously damaged, while the blast also damaged the vehicles parked in the premises of the branches.

“It was also a traumatic experience for the staff and costumers present in the premises. This resulted in loss in revenue as these branches are now closed for repair, while the revenue of the mentioned branches will also suffer as the customers will be afraid of visit for recreational purposes again,” said Ayub Khan in the letter.

He continued that considering the reasons mentioned above, his company requests the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to support its business in such a time of need, adding the he hoped that the provincial government would fully cooperate to get operational once again in Hayatabad area and provide quality F&B services to the residents.
