World Population Day marked in Khyber

KHYBER: The District Population Welfare Office Khyber in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organised a seminar on the eve of World Population Day 2021 here on Sunday.

District Population Welfare Officer Naseem Ullah Khan chaired the function whereas officials of his office and representatives of the Population Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as a number of people from different walks of life participated on the occasion.

Addressing the audience of the function, DPWO Naseem Ullah Khan said that rapid increase in the population was a big problem in the country that’s why family planning was a must to control the overpopulation otherwise the repercussions would be very dangerous in the future.

He stated that Pakistan was on 5th number in population wise in the world so now there were big responsibilities over our shoulders how to tackle the issue of overpopulation, adding that public should prioritise family planning and cooperate with the government and the authorities concerned as it was a matter of high responsibility and importance.
