Welfare of underprivileged people top priority: Rahim Ullah

PESHAWAR: Rahim Ullah Khan, Regional Director, Muslim Hands, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said that Muslim Hands was serving the underprivileged communities of Pakistan since 1992 under the visionary leadership of their Chairman Syed Lakht Hasnain Shah and due to sincerity, devotion and hardworking the organisation had reached to 52 countries which was a hallmark achievement.

He expressed these views while talking to Sunrise Today here on Sunday. He said that apart from Pakistan, Muslim Hands was also working actively in the UK, France, Canada, South Africa and other countries while the registration process of working in the US was in progress, adding that the organisation had a donors network throughout the world which supported the welfare projects in backward areas.

The Muslim Hands’ Regional Director stated that education, emergency relief, social work and public health were their working areas where they had been offering their services since long and served a large number of people in different times in the country. He added that they had been running around 20 thousands educational institutes in different areas and cities, including Islamabad, Peshawar and Mirpur, while it was to be noted that education and other services were totally free for orphan children over there.

Talking about the emergency relief, he said that in this area they had started work since 1994 by providing relief services to the affectees of flood in Swat, adding that they had also provided emergency relief packages to the affected people of 2005 earthquake, IDPs of 2009 anti-terrorism operations and affectees of 2010 floods in Charsadda and Nowshera districts.

Here, it is to be mentioned that Rahim Ullah Khan has been associated with Muslim Hands since 1993. During his long association with the organisation, he has completed multiple projects and relief activities and currently looking after all the operations and management of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office of the organisation. About his educational background, it is worth mentioning that he has been a hardworking and brilliant student and has done M.Com from the University of Peshawar.
