PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission (KPIC) has decided to set up the appellate forums in three divisional headquarters i.e. Swat, Abbottabad and D.I. Khan, while arrangements for the establishment of appellate forum in Malakand division have been finalized.

In this regard, the Chief Information Commissioner, KPIC Sajid Khan Jadoon and Commissioner Riaz Khan Daudzai along with their team on Monday held meetings with the concerned authorities of Malakand division, including Deputy Commissioner Swat and District and Sessions Judge Swat.

While discussing the establishment of appellate forum in Swat, the Chief Information Commissioner highlighted the need and importance of the forum on divisional level and requested the DC Swat Saqib Raza Aslam to provide space for the staff and visiting bench of KPIC. He added that the forum would not only overcome the burden on Commission, but it would also save the precious time and resources of the complainants by addressing their complaints locally instead of going to Peshawar.

The Deputy Commissioner committed to provide space for the forum’s office. Later, the KPIC delegation held meeting with the District and Sessions Judge Swat Zafar Iqbal Khan. The Chief Information Commissioner briefed the honorable Judge on the functioning of the Commission and complaints redressal at the appellate forum. He welcomed the KPIC delegation and vowed to provide his full support, adding that the district judiciary would facilitate the appellate forum.
