JI protests against Pashto singer’s dance at DC residence

LANDI KOTAL: Jamat-i-Islami (JI), Khyber district chapter staged demonstration in main Landikotal bazar on Monday against a well-known Pashto singer‘s controversial dance video shot in the premises of the local administration.

People from all walks of life participated in the demonstration. The protesters chanted full-throated slogans against the local administration and carried the banners inscribed with demands of investigation in the matter.

JI leaders, including Amir Murad Husain, Haji Muqtadar Shah, Haji Abdur Rauf Shinwari and other speakers while addressing the demo said that they condemn the immoral act of Pashto singer Gul Panra who had come from Peshawar a few days ago and entered into the premises of the Deputy Commissioner residence without permission of the authorities and was able to shoot a video for Tik Tok.

Here it is to mention that the controversial dance video of the singer had gone viral on social media and stirred a controversy among various sections of the area.

The protesters said that it was totally against the tribal traditions and the local officials should not have allowed such kind of immoral and un-Islamic act, adding that on the other side, the sanctity of the district admin premises too was hurt where prior to this, the grand tribal Jirgas were held for resolving their issues.

The protestors demanded the concerned authorities to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to the book and enact the rules so that no such unethical act could occur in the future.
