LAKKI MARWAT: A resident of Harama Tala village asked the Inspector General of Police to take notice of the police who tortured him.

Speaking to a press conference on Wednesday, Misal Khan said that a police party headed by Assistance Sub Inspector (ASI) Nezam Khan came to their home on Monday night and scolded him and his brother, Saddam Hussain, before the family members and children.

“I enquired from the ASI what happened that you are treating us this way. He answered, "Your neighbour, who is a cook with the Assistant Commissioner, informed the police about aerial firing at the wedding party of your son.”

He added that he assured the police of his family being law-abiding and could not think of violating the law by resorting to aerial firing at the wedding ceremony of his son. He said that his family was not in good terms with his neighbour who told a lie to the police about aerial firing, adding that only fire crackers were used to celebrate the occasion.

Misal Khan said that the police took him and his handicapped brother to the police station where they were subjected to severe torture. He stated that the police took Rs 60,000, a smartphone and a pistol. He asked the IGP and RPO Bannu to order enquiry into the case and provide them justice.
