Courts to open from 1st June in KP

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court and the lower courts will be opened from Monday, June 1, 2020 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after partially ending the lockdown due to Corona pandemic. In the first phase limited cases will be heard in the courts and later on the number of hearings will be increased. 

In this regard a consultative meeting was held under the chair of Khawaja Wajih Uddin, Registrar, Peshawar High Court to resume all the administrative and judicial activities in the province from 1st June. 

Upon the consent of all the districts judiciary and bar associations, the Peshawar High Court decided to completely open the district courts and tribunals in the larger public interest with acting on all SOPs issued by the government to combat the Corona pandemic.

The district & sessions judges and senior civil judges have been directed to resume their duties after Eid holidays in order to streamline the courts proceedings, manage the daily cause lists, ensure social distancing between the litigants, bar members and court staff and to formulate a plan for the safety of all stakeholders.
