LAKKI MARWAT: The sacked employees of the University of Lakki Marwat (ULM) on Monday asked the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to remove the vice chancellor and registrar from the university.

The employees led by the president Anwar Kamal and general secretary Shahid Zaman staged protest at Kargil Chowk. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the university authorities.

Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Kamal said that the employees had been sacked six months ago without a prior legal notice, adding that they had been running from pillar to post for their reinstatement.

He said that last month they had gone to Mardan to stage sit-in before the residence of VC Dr Aurangzeb but he held negotiation with them and assured them that they would be reinstated soon.

He stated that the Registrar Inamullah had occupied three additional charges including Controller of Examinations, Director, Director Finance and Convener, adding that he was basically posted as Additional Registrar at the University of Science and Technology Bannu and had come to Sub-Campus Lakki Marwat of Bannu University as Coordinator in 2017.

“He also took a senior clerk here in the sub-campus and recently he made the clerk as assistant registrar,” Anwar Kamal said, and warned to take extreme steps if their genuine demands were not accepted.
