The most lethal weapon’s display at Dubai Expo

Editorial

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT) Peshawar is representing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan at the Expo 2020 Dubai which is a very good step to attract different countries and international investors and companies towards the huge and amazing potential of KP but displaying Kalashnikov rifle at the KP stall is a supremely condemnable act by the administration of KPBOIT and it has extremely damaged the national, cultural and traditional sentiments and image of the Pakhtuns across the world.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the best agro-climatic zones, significant geography, the best fertile land, natural resources, productive agriculture, the hardworking labor force and many more which make the province unique and special among the other provinces of Pakistan. At Dubai Expo, the administration of KPBOIT could betterly showcase and highlight a large number of agricultural, industrial, cultural and traditional products and items of the province which would have definitely attracted the world, but exhibiting Kalashnikov on the occasion washed out all the efforts regarding the progress and development of KP through this international expo.

The pictures of Kalashnikov’s exhibition have gone viral on social media which forced the Pakhtuns to seriously criticize and condemn this deplorable act by the administration of KPBOIT. A large number of people have demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to take firm and drastic action against the administration of KPBOIT for misrepresentation of Pakhtun culture by displaying the world’s most lethal weapon at the expo.

It is very clear that this negative act has helped to create a very wrong perception in the world about the rich and historical culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which must be questioned and stopped as Kalashnikov is neither a part of Pakhtun culture nor it is any such great and highly productive thing to be exhibited in public.

The damaging of the image of Pakhtuns on such a global platform can’t be tolerated as they are loving, peaceful and progressive people who always have been in the quest for knowledge and wisdom. The world has witnessed the great hospitality and the historical traditions of Pakhtuns which don’t need any certificate or recognition but the concerned quarters are requested to stop such inhuman behavior with Pakhtuns as they need no more guns, but books and pens.
