The decisive weapons in war science

Dr Liaqat Ali

Wars must be avoided as they bring destruction and human causalities. However, if they are imposed, then they should be dealt with the trio of weaponry, army, and strategy.

The history of wars that is taught in war schools emphasizes the decisive weapons in epic wars since antiquity. Be it the Chariots originating in Mesopotamia around 3,000 BC revolutionizing battle mobility, it was replaced by Cavalry and light weight swords and offensive attacks by Muslims horsemen in Arabian Peninsula. The history has seen the accuracy of moving archery of Mongols in their quest of world. The German Panzer (armored) tanks underwent rapid, massive evolution in Second World War. The world has seen the devastation of Nukes in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The nukes named as fat man and little boy concluded the World War II decisively. Its not only the weaponry, the genius generals and gallantry soldiers have won the battles single handedly. The Trojan horse is an example of smart strategy that led to the fall of the city of Troy.

The Southeast Asian subcontinent is a witness to unsettled dispute of the occupied Kashmir between Pakistan and India. This enmity has resulted multiple skirmishes and three full fledge wars between the two nuclear neighbors. The rise of RSS has unfolded the mask of democratic secular face of Gandhi’s India. The deep routed hatred in India dared the brave army of Pakistan after false flag operation in Pahalgam in 2025. The myopic strategy of the Indian army underestimated the military might of Pakistan. The decisive precision strikes unfolded the myth of the air supremacy of India by shooting the most modern 4.5 generation Rafale fighter get aircrafts, Mig 29 and many more. The queen of the battle – the artillery of Pakistan along with latest missle technology and modern drones knocked out the Indian military positions within hours. The jamming technology of Pakistan Army’s Signal and Engineering corps was successful in diverting the BrahMos which was pitched as premier and combat-proven supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by India and Russia. The resilience of armed forces under the command of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was backed by the brave citizens of Pakistan. The Indian skies, ground and sea witnessed a crushing knockout by better equipped, focused, professionally trained and brave armed forces of Pakistan.

This victory against eight times bigger enemy in 12 days war resulted in the positioning of Pakistan Army as a top notch in the world. The precision, speed, and flawless strategy of the armed forces dented the image of invincible India for decades to go. The 12 days war was stopped after the India requested the UN and the US through diplomatic efforts. The flawed diplomatic circus initiated by famous Indian diplomat Dr Shashi Tharoor faced embarrassment in the world by the more powerful voice of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Well, India has again turned its strategy to insurgency in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ignoring the fact that the armed forces of Pakistan are battle hardened and well trained in countering insurgency since the war on terror. Pakistan now stands tall, honoured, united and disciplined. The entire world saw the diplomatic success story of Pakistan in establishing the recent ceasefire and bringing the US and Iran on table in Islamabad.

The victory of May 10, 2025 in “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos” will be taught in war schools for decades to come that how a smaller force managed to kneel down a bigger army. The think tank and intelligentsia of India should reflect that the forces from North have always won the battles and have forced the Dravidian to the South of Ganga and Jamna. Its important to state that Pakistan will never favour a war and the ambitions of hegemony, but will never surrender because of its deterrents, armed forces, decisive weapons, and the ideological strength of martyrdom driven by Imam Hussain in Karbala.
