Asma Dilawar defends M.Phil thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Asma Dilawar of the Department of Political Science, Islamia College University (ICU) Peshawar has successfully defended her thesis and declared eligible for the award of M.Phil degree in the subject of Political Science.

In this regard, a function was arranged at the ICU here on Wednesday. The function was followed by a question-answer session in which she successfully defended her research work by answering the questions of the participants in a well-managed and proper way.

The title of the study of the scholar is: “Socio-Political Empowerment of Women in Tehsil Kabal, District Swat: Problems and Prospects”. Dr Amir Ullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Political Science, ICU, served as her supervisor while Prof Dr Babar Shah, Director, Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Peshawar, was her external examiner.

Here, it is to mention that Asma Dilawar is the first female scholar who completed M.Phil from the Department of Political Science, ICU. The thesis defense function was attended by faculty members, research scholars, students and people from different walks of life.
