Ph.D scholar Muhammad Izhar defends thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Muhammad Izhar Shafi of the Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences, University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP) has successfully defended his thesis and declared eligible for the award of Ph.D degree in the subject of Agriculture.
The thesis defence function of the scholar was arranged at the UAP here on Friday. The function was followed by a question-answer session wherein he defended his research work successfully by answering the questions of the participants in a well-managed and proper way.
The title of his study is: “Effect of Humic Acid Coated Phosphatic Fertilizers inoculated with Mycorrhiza Fungi on Growth, Yield and Phosphorus Uptake of Wheat and Maize in Calcareous Soils” which he completed under the supervision of Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, Chairman, Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences, UAP, while it was examined by eminent professors in Australia and America.
Apart from the Dean, Faculty of Crop Production Sciences, Prof Dr Fida Mohammad, the Chairman, Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences, Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, faculty members, research scholars and students, the thesis defence function was attended by a number of people belonging to the different fields of life.
