The resurrection of phoenix

Dr Liaqat Ali

Whole of the world’s philosophy lies in two words, Sustain and Abstain. Same is true for the war theatre in Middle East. The world is facing the fiasco of miscalculated strikes of the US and Israel on Iran that were based on older scripts that were read by new faces. Those old lyrics by new singers in Pentagon and Washington were merely based on assumption, apprehension, miscalculation and no strategy of the end game.

Though the conspiracy theoretical masters make the collage of honey trapping of Bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky few decades back to the Pandora box of notorious pedophilic Epstein Files. These ruthless strikes on the sovereign country of Iran were initiated with optics of gaining popularity of Benjamin Netanyahu in November elections and mid-term election of Donald Trump. Whatever the reason was, this aggression has resulted tremendous humanitarian loss of Iran’s supreme leader, his whole family, military establishment and 160 children in a school.

The causality is growing. The retaliatory strikes of Iran are also putting impression against the world’s sophisticated imperialist army. However, the military of the US and Israel has committed a big mistake of the resurrection of phoenix. They killed an 86 year old cancer survival supreme leader Syed Ali Khamenei in a strike without knowing the history, metaphorical strength and cultural resilience of Iranian nation. The 86 year old Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei was older then the state of Israel and was heading the nation with 6,000 years brilliant history and tradition against the aggressor USA which is only 250 years old.

This incident has resurrected the phoenix, a legendary bird that takes a new life from its own ashes. Actually, the aggressors failed to understand that the ideological faith of Muslims are  deeply rooted in oppressive history going back to the battle of Karbala where 72 companion of Imam Hussain (AS) stood firmly against thousands of Umayyad army. This one day skirmish in which the family of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was massacred, became the artistic, cultural, historic, ethnographic and divine metaphor.

In Islam, the people resonate the loss of their loved ones with greater loss and grief of Imam Hussain. The millions of mourners in the funeral resonated the martyrdom of the supreme leader of Iran with loyal companion of Imam Hussain, Habib Bin Mazahir, and the sacrifice of beautiful angelic granddaughter of the supreme leader was resonated with sacrifice of the youngest daughter of Imam Hussain (AS) who succumbed to atrocities in the prison of Syria. This resonating echo is the foundation of Muslims in whole world. Now the sacrifice of the supreme leader will be transferred on canvas as paintings and transformed into the words. In countless books of poetry and prose, he will be remembered as a hero in traditional stories for generations.

As 1,400 years have passed after Karbala, still the bereavement of millions of followers chants slogans in favor of Imam Hussain (AS) and his opponents have become a curse. The faith and the superior older Iranian traditions have resurrected the phoenix and now Mr Trump and Mr Netanyahu will be called as a ‘curse’ for at least millennium to come. This one miscalculation of bombing diplomatic table during talks on all issues have united the Iranian nation and transformed it in a more resilient and revengeful force.

The face of Muhammad Raza Pahlavi pitched by the USA and Israel for Arab’s Monarchs is simply an illusion and a mirage. The joint military forces have eliminated a supreme leader who remained inviter and advocate for Muslim unity. In contrast, Muhammad Raza Pahlavi is the son of a conceited former Monarch who refused to attend the Islamic summit in Pakistan in 1974 just because of his arrogance and not willing to sit with Arab leaders.

The joint military forces though achieved in elimination of a leader, whose edict have prevented the Iranian state of having nuclear nukes as prohibited for human being as weapon of mass destruction.

What I see, is the new supreme leader who so ever face tremendous internal pressure to declare juristic verdict of nuclear weapons, and there are so many countries who can help Iran in creating balance between the solo super power to two or block of three super powers.

As I earlier said about world’s philosophy that either the US has to sustain the blame of violating the manifesto of “America First” and also make the Iranian nation more alienated towards the US and West or better to abstain from committing atrocities against non-combat children of schools, patients in hospitals and players in football stadium.

I have a dream that sanity prevails, this dust of bombing is settled, and peace talks are resumed on a joint table with harmony and mutual respect that can lead to another treaty of stability in Middle East. I also have a dream that the dove of Noah returns back to the land of prophets with freshly plucked olive leaf symbolizing hope, peace, and the restoration of life.

    # Comment --- A brilliantly written piece that exposes the strategic blindness of those who attacked Iran based on outdated thinking and zero end-game planning. Your phoenix metaphor is spot on — history proves that killing a symbol only strengthens the idea behind it. The connection to Karbala beautifully explains why this sacrifice will unite rather than weaken the Iranian nation for generations to come. Your "Sustain or Abstain" philosophy perfectly sums up the choice America now faces — own the consequences of this aggression or stop before the damage becomes irreversible. But your piece raises some hard questions that the Muslim world must answer: **Where are the Arab countries?** While Muslim blood is being spilled, Arab capitals remain silent. Are oil deals and Western approval really worth more than Muslim lives? **Where is the OIC?** 57 member states, nearly 2 billion Muslims — yet not a single meaningful action. If this organisation cannot speak up during open aggression against a Muslim nation, what exactly is it for? **Why are some Arab governments quietly supporting the very powers attacking their neighbours?** History will judge them harshly for this — just as history judged those who stood against Imam Hussain a.s . Like the writer, I hope for peace and sanity to prevail. But that peace will never come while some Muslim nations are busy serving those who are lighting the fire.

Sir I would differ with you only in the last few lines Would have written USA and ISRAEL are doing all this to stabilize the the illegally occupied land of Palestine which is an undisputed truth for all Muslim countries and they will do it unless someone puts an end to it by striking back which is only possible if the Muslims get united The Iranians have taken a start against US and ISRAEL with their blood and years of international segregation and financial losses It's high time that the Muslims around the world stand with IRAN USA and ISRAEL are never going to back down so easily If IRAN gets defeated,God forbid, I don't see any other country to stand these atrocities High time for all Muslims to stand with IRAN even if your governments are American puppets
