BKUC admin appoints chemistry teacher as HoD pharmacy

PESHAWAR: The Young Pharmacist Community Pakistan has strongly criticized the administration of Bacha Khan University Charsadda (BKUC) for appointing a faculty member of the chemistry department as head of the pharmacy department and said that it completely rejected the notification, issued in this regard.
In a press release issued here on Friday, the Young Pharmacist Community Pakistan’s representative Saud Khan Sahil said that the association demanded immediate withdrawal of the said notification issued by BKUC administration as it was a clear violation of the rules of the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.
He further stated that the Pharmacy Council should end its criminal silence in this context and take a strong action by seeking explanation from the university administration for this illegal act, otherwise the Young Pharmacist Community would start a huge protest against the Pharmacy Council as well.
It is to be mentioned here that the administration of BKUC issued a notification on March 1, 2024, according to which Dr Sajjad Ali, Assistant Professor (BPS-19), Department of Chemistry, has been appointed as Head, Department of Pharmacy in addition to his own teaching and research responsibilities.
In this regard, this scribe tried to contact the Vice Chancellor, BKUC, Prof Dr Zahid Hussain for taking his version on the issue but he, neither attend the call, nor replied to text message.
