UET Peshawar holds convocation

PESHAWAR: The convocation of the University of Engineering and Technology was held here on Tuesday to commemorate the academic accomplishments of the students of session 2022. Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain, Vice Chancellor, UET, conferred degrees on graduating students of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Total 550 students were awarded degrees in engineering and non-engineering programs including 507 BSc degrees, 15 PhD degrees and 27 MSc degrees. At the convocation, 16 gold medals were also awarded to graduates of undergraduate programs who achieved top positions.

The Vice Chancellor, UET, Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain congratulated the graduates and their parents on their marvelous achievements and said that the future of the country was dependent on students, adding that UET had 12 centers of excellence from which real outcome was now seen in the form of linkages and joint applied research projects.

He further stated, “According to the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2023, UET Peshawar stands first in engineering category in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and fifth in Pakistan, while third in all universities category in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it is also ranked between 800-1000 universities in the world.”
