Secretary education inaugurates ECE Center at GGPS Pawaka

PESHAWAR: Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Motasim Billah Shah has said that provision of quality education to children and facilities to all schools was the top priority of the provincial government and in this regard new classrooms were being constructed, so that more boys and girls could be admitted to the government schools.

He expressed these views on the occasion of the inauguration of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Center, established at Government Girls Primary School Pawaka, Peshawar here on Saturday by Participatory Rural Development Society (PRDS) and Volunteer Service Overseas (VSO).

While speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the efforts of PRDS under Multi Year Resilience Program and said that the education department believed in collaborative approach and was grateful to all those organizations that were providing technical and financial assistance for the overarching goal of quality education.

He emphasized that early years of a child form the basis of intelligence, personality, social behavior and capacity to learn and nurture oneself, therefore, the E&S Education Department was keenly investing in early childhood development as priority to achieve the SDG goals, adding that the government had allocated a significant portion of the available funds for equipping the ECE rooms with modern facilities and training teachers, while many important projects were also being implemented with the help of international organizations.

Tariq Hayat Yousafzai, the Provincial Coordinator, Multi Year Resilience Program, thanked the Secretary E&SE Department, teachers, parents and representatives of VSO and stated that under the ECW Fund, a total of 24 Early Childhood Education Centers and 36 Catch-up Learning Centers had been established in Nowshera, Peshawar and Charsadda, where free and quality education was being provided to enrolled boys and girls.
