Swat University students visit media houses in Lahore

SWAT: The students along with faculty of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, University of Swat completed their 4-day exposure visit of Lahore last week.
On the occasion, the students visited different media houses and experienced working environment at news rooms and studios over there. They visited the Virtual University, Pakistan Television and NEO TV as well as Lahore Press Club.
During the visit, the Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Dr Jamal-ud-Din said, “Journalism is the combination of theory and practical work, hence theory is being taught in classrooms while practical work is exercised in the field.”
The students thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Sher and the HoD of Media and Communication Studies Dr Jamal-ud-Din for organizing the trip and said that they had a memorable visit where they got rich experience of the field of journalism and that would be very helpful for them in building their careers.
