Zakia Zaman defends M.Phil thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Zakia Zaman of the Department of Pakistan Studies, Islamia College University (ICU) Peshawar has successfully defended her M.Phil thesis here on Monday.

A function was held in this regard at the ICU which was followed by a question-answer session wherein she defended her research work by answering the questions of the audience in a scholarly way and she was declared eligible for the award of M.Phil degree in the subject of Pakistan Studies.

The topic of the thesis of the scholar is: “Divergent Perceptions Regarding the Merger of Former FATA in to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” which she completed under the supervision of Assistant Prof Noor-ul Amin, while Dr Hanif Khalil of the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad was her external examiner.

Apart from the faculty members, research scholars and students of the university, the thesis defense function of the scholar was attended by a number of people belonging to difference walks of life.
