PSF demands special package for universities

PESHAWAR: Peoples Students Federation (PSF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has demanded the provincial government to provide enough funds to universities by securing the future of the nation through education and research.
Riaz Khan Yousafzai, General Secretary, PSF, KP, in a press statement said that universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been going through a very tough situation as there was a serious deficiency in the availability of funds and that would create dangerous repercussions, if the crisis not managed in time.
He stated that due to financial crisis the public sector universities in the province had been facing different types of problems and that is why faculty, students, and everyone related to academia was worried about his future, adding that granting a special educational package to universities was a dire need of the hour and the government should take its responsibility on emergency basis in order to safeguard the universities from more financial crunches.
