20pc budget be allocated for education: PCE

SWABI: Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) organized a one-day seminar under the title “Decolonizing Education Financing” in Jirga Hall, Topi city here on Thursday, wherein participants stressed on the provision of free education to every child in the country.

Addressing the audience, former provincial food minister Ghafoor Khan, chairman tehsil Topi Rahim Jadoon, SDEO Abdul Wahab and other speakers said that there was no educational institution for transgender in the district, adding that educational institutions should be established in every tehsil for special persons and transgender.

“20 million plus children are out of schools in Pakistan and more than 10 billion rupees are required for bringing them back to schools by 2030, therefore, 20 percent budget should be allocated for education,” the speakers told.

Education was not a privilege, but a basic right of every child that’s why the state must prioritize education by allocating reasonable funds for this sacred cause to develop and progress the nation, further stated the speakers.
