Workshop on mushroom cultivation technology held at UoM

CHAKDARA: The Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Gul Zaman inaugurated a 2-days training workshop on “Mushroom Cultivation Technology: A Cottage Industry” on Thursday.

The workshop was organized by the Department of Botany, UoM in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), UoM and Nuclear Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA), Peshawar.

The VC, UoM, Prof Dr Gul Zaman, Dean, Biological Sciences, Prof Dr Mir Azam Khan, Dean, Computer Science & IT, Prof Dr Jamil Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Botany, Dr Mohammad Nisar, ORIC Manager, Maqsood Mazhar and senior scientist, NIFA, Dr Dawood Khan graced the occasion.

The guest speakers highlighted the cultivation and significance of mushroom technology as a tool for poverty reduction in the rural areas. The VC, UoM, Prof Dr Gul Zaman pledged to take suitable measures for commercial development of mushroom technology at the UOM and to engage the local farmers to take benefits from the technology.
