Dr Nazir Ahmad becomes member of Pakistan Academy of Sciences

PESHAWAR: Dr Nazir Ahmad Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Animal Nutrition, University of Agriculture Peshawar, has been selected as a member of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Islamabad, which is an acknowledgement to his achievements as a young researcher under 40.

Dr Nazir has been associated with teaching and research for the last 11 years. He has worked on the most innovative research projects in the area of animal nutrition at the world’s leading research groups. He has supervised 10 PhD and 70 MSc (Hons)/MPhil scholars and has won 8 research grants from national and international funding agencies.

After doing BSc (Hons) in Animal Husbandry and MSc (Hons) in Animal Nutrition from the University of Agriculture Peshawar, he did PhD and postdoc from the Wageningen University, the Netherlands.

He is also a member of the editorial boards of prestigious journals like the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, and the Biomed Research International, whereas he is contributing to the editorial board of the Sarhad Journal of Agriculture and has published 71 research articles in JCR indexed impact factor journals.
