World Food Day observed at AUP

PESHAWAR: The Department of Food Science and Technology, Agriculture University Peshawar (AUP) marked the World Food Day 2020 here on the other day.

A function was held in this regard at the AUP, in which the Vice Chancellor, AUP Prof Dr Jehan Bakht was the chief guest, whereas Dean, Faculty of Nutrition Sciences Prof Dr Said Wahab, Chairman, Department of Food Science and Technology Prof Dr Mohammad Ayub, faculty members, research scholars, students and people from different walks of life participated in large number.

Addressing the audience, the Vice Chancellor AUP said that observing the World Food Day was very important for creating awareness about the need of proper diet and nutrition as without enough supply of nutritional ingredients to human body it was difficult to survive as healthy person.

He stressed on the availability of food items for everyone in the country and stated that it was the basic right of all citizens without any discrimination to have proper meals every day and that’s why the federal and provincial governments and the concerned authorities should focus on that matter on priority basis.
