Govt to establish two technical institutes in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has approved the establishment of Government Polytechnic Institute at Urmar area and Government Technical and Vocational Training Center at Adezai area of Peshawar district and directed the concerned authorities that proposal should be prepared and submitted as soon as possible.

The CM Mahmood Khan was presiding over a meeting regarding the developmental schemes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) here on Monday at CM House. Secretaries and officials of the concerned departments as well as the MD TEVTA attended the meeting.

According to the documents, the total estimated cost of the projects is about Rs1000 million, whereas the Government Technical and Vocational Training Center Adezai would have separate facilities of education and training both for male and female students.

While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that a large number of technical colleges and vocational training centers had already been established and functionalized; however, the government was also setting up new institutions to meet the increasing demand of the market, adding that in the context of rapid industrialization, the establishment of institutions for technical and vocational education was very important.
