Russian Consul General visits UET Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Andrew G. Fesyun, the Consul General of Russia in Karachi and Arsala Khan, the Honorary Counsel General of Russia in Peshawar along with a delegation visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar on Tuesday and met with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaiser Ali and discussed the areas of mutual interest in the fields of research and academics.

A press release issued by the UET here on Tuesday, says that aim of the visit of Russian delegation was to look out for the possibilities of students exchange programs through scholarships. Meanwhile, the delegation visited the Centers of Excellence in UET and attended the presentations by the UET faculty members for joint ventures and collaborations in future.

Mr. Andrew G. Fesyun said that the Russian Government was paying significant attention to the development and advancement of science and technology in both the countries, adding that such ventures and associations would strengthen the ties between the people and governments of Russia and Pakistan.

Prof Dr Qaiser Ali while expressing his views stated that the UET was interested to initiate the production of new opportunities in the fields of engineering and technology, saying that the students and faculty of both the countries could jointly work in order to address the scientific and technological challenges being faced by both the countries.
