Women Empowerment through Digital Skills project launched

PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information Technology and Science & Technology Ziaullah Bangash formally inaugurated the ‘Women Empowerment through Digital Skills’ project of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) on Friday.

The project aims to ensure women’s inclusion in the digital economy under the KP Youth Employment Program - an initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB). Under the project, 3000 women will be trained on employable digital skills across the province.

While addressing the audience at the inaugural ceremony, Advisor to CM KP Ziaullah Bangash praised the initiative and appealed the women to participate in the training program. He said that it was a rich opportunity through which they could boost their skills and capabilities and could utilize it for earning a respectable livelihood in the field of information technology.

Dr Shahbaz Khan, MD, KPITB, stated that the provincial government was determined to provide digital skills to the women, adding that under the project, KPITB was keen to create maximum jobs and skill development opportunities for the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
