World Health Organisation team visits KTH

PESHAWAR: A team of the World Health Organisation (WHO) visited the Khyber Teaching Hospital (MTI-KTH) here on Friday and inspected different areas of the hospital to know about the institutionalization of a patient safety system based on the WHO’s patient safety protocols.

The team was led by Afifa Baloch and Dr Zulfiqar Khan while the participants were from all over the DHQs and hospitals of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. On arrival, the participants were divided into five groups and they visited the pharmacy, central sterilization department, medical record, radiology, laboratory, blood bank and the newly under construction basement.

The team was received by Senior Media and Protocol Manager Farhad Khan, Manager HR Yousaf Jamal and Manager Facilities Tahir Shahzad, while the welcome address and briefing to the team was given by the Medical Director Prof Dr Amir Azhar.
