KTH marks World Patient Safety Day

PESHAWAR: The World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) 2020 observed by the Khyber Teaching Hospital (MTI-KTH), Peshawar in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter.

A seminar was held at the MTI-KTH here on Thursday which was attended by the Chairman Infection Control Committee and In-charge Medical D Ward MTI-KTH Prof Dr Hashim Uddin Azam Khan, Assistant Prof Dr Awais Naeem, Assistant Prof Dr Abdul Khaliq, Microbiologist Noor Rehman, Nursing Director Rehmat Ullah, Nursing Manager and Secretary Infection Control Committee Asmat Pasha, WHO National Professional Officer Dr Mazhar Khan, WHO Consultant Dr Sufian Khan, TMOs and nursing staff.

While addressing the occasion, Prof Dr Hashim Uddin Azam Khan and other speakers said that Covid-19 pandemic had unveiled the huge challenges with which the health workers were being faced globally, adding that it was important to recognize their professionalism and dedication, and invest in protecting them, so that they could provide safe and effective healthcare to the patients.
