Popular actress Sarwat Ali to get free medical treatment

PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has issued directives on Wednesday to the administration of the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar to provide free medical treatment to famous TV artist Dr Sarwat Ali after getting viral a photo of her on social media showing her with a fractured leg in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Director Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shama Naimat reached the hospital to inquire about the health of the ailing artist and handed over her a cheque Rs 100,000 on behalf of the provincial government. On the occasion, she said that the KP government would bear expenses of the ailing TV actress. 

Here it is to mention that Dr Sarwat Ali started her career from a Pashto serial on PTV Peshawar Center way back in 1996. She soon got widespread fame for her acting and played out different roles in over 100 Pashto, Hindko and Urdu popular plays and remained recipient of the best actress award twice in her acting career, whereas she has also performed on stage and radio.

The Pashto play, titled ‘Tanda’ (Thirst) was her last serial penned down by noted playwright Noorul Bashar Naveed telecast in 2008. After that she left the showbiz and focused on her married life but hard times hit her as most artists end up with miserable condition and she was no exception.
