DG Health authorizes MPHL to test Corona patients

MARDAN: The Director General, Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has authorized the Mardan Public Health Laboratory (MPHL) at Mardan Medical Complex (MTI-MMC) to start independent testing of Corona patients. 

It was stated in letter No-6772-77 issued by the Director General, Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. It was further stated in the letter that all the reports generated by the laboratory will be shared with health department, and the lab’s reports would have to be entered in the IPMS software on the basis of actual time. 

It is to be noted that on March 19, 2020 after the death of Saadat Khan - a resident of Muslimabad village of Manga Union Council, the doctors, paramedics and healthcare staff as well as public representatives had started demand from the government to establish Corona testing lab in the district, and when Chief Minister Mahmood Khan visited Mardan he committed that the provincial government would set up Coronavirus testing lab on immediate basis.
