IKD, PAUS launch Pakistan Journal of Urology

PESHAWAR: The Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD), Hayatabad Medical Complex (MTI-HMC) in collaboration with Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS) has started the publication of Pakistan Journal of Urology (PJU) – which is the first ever journal of its kind in the country.

The PJU is a biannual publication. Its editor-in-chief is internationally acclaimed urologist Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, while the team of editors, writers and other staff is comprised of seasoned urologists from all over Pakistan.

The journal covers most of the urological problems of Pakistan by researching and analyzing multiple topics of larger public interest. The first issue includes five original articles, one review article and two case reports.

The Editor-in-Chief, PJU, Prof Dr Liaqat Ali while talking to this correspondent told, “Pakistan Journal of Urology is a dream come true both for IKD and PAUS. It is a very good addition to the field of medical science in Pakistan that will be proved very helpful for budding urologists to understand complex urological issues.”

He further stated that it was hoped that soon the PJU will be recognized by PMDC, HEC, and other national and international accrediting bodies to produce and promote quality research in the area of urology.
