ORC marks new milestone at FIO Hospital

PESHAWAR: The medical community gathered at FIO Hospital, Hayatabad to witness the momentous inauguration of Ocular Research Center (ORC), a groundbreaking initiative poised to revolutionize the landscape of eye care research and innovation.

The ceremony held on Wednesday, was graced by distinguished luminaries, including Prof Dr Zia-ul-Islam, Prof Dr Noor-ul-Iman, Prof Dr Naeem Khattak, Prof Dr Lal Muhammad, Dr Yousaf Jamal, Dr Rab Nawaz, Dr Noor-ul-Hussain, Dr Adnan Alam and Dr Irum Jihan Afridi.

The chief guest, Prof Dr Zia-ul-Islam, delivered an inspiring keynote address underscoring the significance of collaborative research in advancing the field of ophthalmology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Prof Dr Noor-ul-Iman, the guest of honor and Principal, Northwest School of Medicine, highlighted the potential of the ORC to transform the academic landscape by fostering groundbreaking research in the realm of eye care.

The FIO Hospital’s CEO, Prof Dr Mushtaq Ahmad extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests by expressing his gratitude for their presence on the historic occasion. He emphasized on the pressing need for a dedicated research center in the domain of eye care, claiming the FIO Hospital’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge.

While acknowledging the services of ORC, he said, “With state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge equipment and a multidisciplinary team of experts, the ORC is poised to drive meaningful advancements in the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular conditions.”
