PESHAWAR: The Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Industries and Commerce Abdul Karim Khan has said that the Department of Industries and Commerce under the vision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government was striving for economic revolution through rapid industrialization and the people of KP would be benefited from these efforts in near future.

He stated this while giving an interview to Sunrise Today here on Friday. He said that the provincial government was serious about industrial development and attracting national and international investment to boost up the provincial economy and create enough employment opportunities for the locals, adding that there was no need of disappointment at all as the economic cycle was progressing satisfactorily.

The Special Assistant to CM KP said that challenges exist everywhere but we should look forward to positivity as there were a lot of opportunities in the industrial sector of the province which need to be properly explored, adding that the best agro-climatic zones, significant geography, the best fertile land, natural resources, the hardworking labor force and many more such amazing characteristics make the province unique and special from other provinces while we could say that KP was the land of growing opportunities.

He maintained that during the last few years KP had taken the center stage, not just only in geo-political but also in geo-economic terms and attracting investment, saying that to promote industrialization in the province, the provincial government had launched the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Industrial Policy 2020 which was based on three pillars e.g. revival & rehabilitation, growth and competitiveness.

Through the policy, the KP government aimed to attract investment, revive the sick industrial units, rehabilitate the infrastructure and the allied facilities in the existing industrial estates, establish sector specific economic zones and special economic zones, encourage small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and develop professionally skilled human resources, he continued.

“I would like to invite the investors to come forward and benefit themselves from the huge potential of the province. I give them assurance that our doors will remain open for them to facilitate them not only in terms of the security of their investment but also extending all possible cooperation in the smooth implementation of their projects on ground,” the Special Assistant to Chief Minister said.

He further stated that the Department of Industries and Commerce Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the guidelines of the provincial government was providing every kind of support in the process of industrialization to industrialists and investors as together we could bring the desired change through economic revolution.
