Book on famous Urdu writers and poets published

PESHAWAR: A book on a number of renowned personalities of Urdu literature has been published by Raj Muhammad Afridi, the founder of Darra Adam Khel Library.

According to a press release issued by Darra Adam Khel Library here on Saturday, the book, titled ‘Mashaheer adab ki gumgushta jehtain’ is comprised of 18 essays written about those literary aspects of the lives of around 20 well-known Urdu writers, poets and playwrights of the past and present which could not be addressed to previously.

Mirza Ghalib, Wajid Ali Shah Akhtar, Altaf Hussain Hali, Maulana Shibli Nomani, Agha Hashar Kashmiri, Premchand, Pitras Bukhari, Hafeez Jalandhari, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Saadat Hasan Manto, Ali Sardar Jafri, Ehsan Danish, Ismat Chughtai, Rahim Gul, Dr Arsh Siddiqui, Dr Anwar Sadeed, Mustansar Hussain Tarar and Mufti Taqi Usmani have been discussed in the publication.

The Aaraaf Printers, Mohalla Jhangi, Peshawar has published the 158-page book in June this year, while it is available at National Book Foundation, Hayatabad, Peshawar, University Book Agency, Khyber Bazar, Peshawar, Anwar Khan Lala Book Agency, Coffee Shop Bazar, Islamia College University, Peshawar and Samadiya Book House, Bannu.

Here it is to be mentioned that the author Raj Muhammad Afridi is a young writer, academic and Ph.D scholar at the Department of Urdu, Qurtuba University of Science and Information Technology (QUSIT), Peshawar. He has established the first ever public library in his hometown Darra Adam Khel, district Kohat which has been a hard militancy-hit area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a nationally and internationally famous gun market.
