MARDAN: The office bearers of Paramedical Association Mardan chapter on Tuesday have said that they would fully support the protest of Paramedical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to get their rights and that’s why they would observe strike on 22nd August in all the hospitals of the district, however, emergency services would be provided.

It was decided in a meeting of the cabinet of District Paramedical Association. The meeting was presided over by the association’s chairman Fazal Qayyum, whereas general secretary Sami-ur-Rehman and other office bearers attended the meeting.

The participants of the meeting said that in order to resolve the long standing issues of the paramedics, especially promotion/up-gradation, it was necessary to join the protest of paramedics’ fraternity throughout the province, adding that every step would be taken to make the strike successful.

They stated that so far no serious action had been taken by the provincial government and the concerned authorities to solve their problems, saying that it showed that the government and authorities were not sincere with them.

They participants also criticised the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Act, 2015 and declared it as anti-employees law and demanded that MTI employees should also be given all the due rights of civil servants under the Management Council Ordinance 2002.
