Madrar Hussain defends Ph.D thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Muhammad Madrar Hussain of the Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (IBGE), Agriculture University Peshawar (AUP) has successfully defended his Ph.D thesis on Friday.

In this regard, a function was held at the AUP on Friday in which he defended his research work. The event was followed by a question-answer session in which he answered the questions of the audience in a scholarly way and he was declared eligible for the award of Ph.D degree in the subject of Biotechnology. Apart from faculty, research scholars and students, a number of people from different walks of life were also in attendance.

The title of his study is: “Characterization of OsTZF8 gene encoding tandem CCCH zinc finger protein for abiotic stress tolerance in rice” which he completed under the supervision of Prof Dr Asad Jan, while it was examined by many well-known professors of Japan and America.
