10th vintage classic car rally kicks off in Landi Kotal

LANDI KOTAL: The 10th Annual Cross Country Vintage and Classic Car Rally started from Landi Kotal, district Khyber to Karachi here on Saturday.

The activity was organized under the auspices of Heritage motoring club of Pakistan and more than sixty classic car riders from across the country participated in the rally.

Classic cars modeling from 1940 to 1970 of Ford Thunder Bird, Ferrari, Austin Mini, Rolls Royce Silver, Hawk Chevrolet, Willy’s, Peugeot famous vehicles brand of the world contributed in the rally.

According to the organizers the rally started in merged Khyber district would pass through Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rahimyar Khan and will end at Mazar-e-Quaid, Karachi.

While sharing aim of the rally the official said that the purpose of the car rally, initiated from the ex-tribal agency was to convoy massage to the world that peace had been restored in the country and to attract tourists in the area.

Earlier, participants of the rally arrived at Michni check post where the administration and the forces official received them warmly and briefed them.

The visitors witnessed the Pak-Afghan border and then they were taken to forces cantonment. At the end Commandant Khyber Rifles Col Bilal see off the rally.
