Korean monks visit Takht Bhai, offer prayers

PESHAWAR: A delegation of South Korean Buddhists monks led by Wan Hang Friday visited the archaeologist sites of Buddha era in Takht Bhai tehsil of Mardan district and offered special prayers.

The delegation was comprised of 45 monks including eight women. After performing their religious rituals, the delegation expressed gratitude to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for preserving the Buddha heritage sites.

They attended a reception that was arranged by Provincial Senior Minister for Tourism, Atif Khan at his residence. Talking to media on the occasion, Wan Hang said that the efforts of the KP government to protect and preserve religious sites were an unprecedented example of interfaith harmony, adding that it had also promoted the soft image of the country in the world.—APP
