KP Govt appoints VCs for eight public universities

PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has appointed the Vice Chancellors for eight public sector universities of the province here on Friday.

In this regard, notifications have been issued by the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that the newly appointed Vice Chancellors will serve for a period of three years in their respective universities.

According to the notifications, Prof Dr Bashir Ahmad, Dean/Meritorious Professor, University of Peshawar has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, Bacha Khan University, Charsadda. Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain, ex-Prof/Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar.

Prof Dr Zahoor-ul-Haq, Dean/Pro-Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of Punjab has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar.

Prof Dr Zaffar M Khan of the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology, Nowshera. Prof Dr Shahid Mehmood Baig of the Department of Biological Sciences, Agha Khan University, Karachi has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, University of Swabi.

Prof Dr Khair-uz-Zaman, Director, COMSATS University, Islamabad (Vehari Campus) has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, University of Science and Technology, Bunnu and Prof Dr Sardar Khan, Chairman, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Peshawar has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, Kohat University of Science and Technology.
