Scholar Luqman defends Ph.D thesis

PESHAWAR: A research scholar, Luqman of the Department of Weed Science, Agriculture University Peshawar (AUP) has successfully defended his Ph.D thesis here on Friday.
In this regard, a function was organised at the AUP which was followed by a question-answer session. In the session, the scholar answered the questions of the audience in a scholarly way and he was declared eligible for the award of Ph.D degree in the subject of Weed Science.
The topic of his thesis is, “Integrated effect of tillage depth and weeding regimes on yield components, nutritional status and weeds of Maize crop”, which he completed under the supervision of Dr Zahid Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of Weed Science, AUP, while it was examined by well-known professors in Turkey and America.
Apart from a number of people from different walks of life, the thesis defence function was attended by the Dean, Faculty of Crop Protection Sciences, AUP Prof Dr Ahmad-ur-Rahman Saljoqi, Chairperson, Department of Weed Science Dr Saima Hashim, faculty members, research scholars and students of the university.
