Dr Ishfaq Khan awarded postdoc fellowship in UK

PESHAWAR: Dr Muhammad Ishfaq Khan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Weed Science, Agriculture University Peshawar (AUP) has secured Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, UK.

The fellowship is sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. During this period, he will work on weeds bioactive compounds or weeds allelopathy for future eco-friendly weed management in field crops to discourage synthetic herbicides. His contribution will be the basis for organic and sustainable agriculture in Pakistan.

The faculty of the Department of Weed Science, AUP arranged a farewell party in the honour of Dr Ishfaq Khan here on Friday. The Vice Chancellor, AUP and Islamia College University Prof Dr Jehan Bakht, Dean, Faculty of Crop Protection Sciences Prof Dr Ahmad-Ur-Rahman Saljoqi and Chairperson, Department of Weed Science Dr Saima Hashim were among the participants.
