PNAC, FPCCI hold seminar on halal accreditation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) of the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) conducted an awareness seminar on halal accreditation here on Wednesday to promote and highlight the need, importance and benefits of halal certification.

The theme of the seminar was “Halal Accreditation; A Gateway to International Trade”, in which Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Federal Minister for Science and Technology was the chief guest, whereas Ismat Gul Khattak, Director General, PNAC, Akhtar Bughio, Director General, Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA), Mian Anjum Nisar, President, FPCCI and members of business community and regulatory bodies were present on the occasion.

While addressing the audience, the speakers highlighted the need and importance of halal certification and emphasized on the representatives of industry to ensure it as per the rules and regulations. Meanwhile, the officials of PNAC and PHA delivered presentations on different topics related to halal accreditation.

At the end, DG, PNAC Ismat Gul Khattak presented souvenirs to Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, DG, PHA Akhtar Bughio and President, FPCCI Mian Anjum Nisar and also distributed certificates among the participants of the seminar.
