Syndicate members of ICU boycott meeting

PESHAWAR: The Syndicate members of the Islamia College University (ICU), Peshawar boycotted the 22nd emergency meeting of the Syndicate which was scheduled to be held on Friday, 21st August, 2020, sources said.

According to sources, the Syndicate meeting couldn't be held due to the boycott of its members and due to this state of affairs the situation at ICU may get worst in the forthcoming days, adding that the members had earlier written a letter to the Vice Chancellor for the implementation of the decisions of 21st meeting of the Syndicate but no action was taken by the University’s administration in this regard.

The letter says that it was decided in the 21st meeting that Dr Tauqir Alam, Registrar, ICU to be transferred to any other department of the University on a BPS-20 post, Prof Dr Tariq Jan to be relieved from the additional charge of Registrar immediately, and as per the law, an officer from the Administrative Cadre should immediately assume the charge of the Office of Registrar.
