KMU, Hazara University sign MoU

PESHAWAR: The MoU signing ceremony for organizing and hosting the 3rd International Conference on Quality Assurance was held at the Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) Secretariat, Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar on Wednesday.

The MoU was signed by Prof Dr Arshad Javed, Vice Chancellor, KMU and President PNQAHE and Prof Dr Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah, Vice Chancellor, Hazara University. According to the MoU, Hazara University would organize and host the 3rd International Conference on Quality Assurance. The two organizations would work in co-operation to hold the conference to achieve its objectives to serve the community at large. Besides others, Registrar, KMU, Prof Dr M Saleem Gandapur and General Secretary, PNQAHE, Asiya Bukhari were also present on the occasion.

The PNQAHE and HU agreed upon the terms that HU would develop the conference website containing all the necessary information for the participants. The website link shall be displayed on both, PNQAHE and Hazara University websites. Announcing and marketing the conference information to the PNQAHE member/non-member HEIs and international target participants, in consultation with PNQAHE would also be made by HU.  The HU would also form a committee of the senior faculty members to evaluate the submitted abstracts/papers/presentations. The said committee would be fully authorized to select or reject submissions. The generous financial contribution of HU was also highly appreciated for meeting the conference expenses. It was agreed upon by both the parties that the HU would bear all the expenditures of the conference excluding share of the PNQAHE.

In the meeting it was also decided that the collaboration or sponsorship from any organization would be highly appreciated. The recommended lower limit for the collaboration is PKR 0.5 million and for sponsorships is PKR 0.2 million. The meeting was told that University of Malakand has shown keen interest in collaborating with HU by paying the recommended share of PKR 0.5 million, however, any other university or organization would also be welcomed for collaboration subject to fulfilling the terms and condition of the MoU.
