LAKKI MARWAT: The residents of Wanda Hakeem Topai on Friday asked the provincial secretary for the elementary and secondary education to direct the DEO Lakki to transfer a teacher to their village.

In a press statement, Sifatullah, Matiullah, Zafarullah Khan, Akhtar Zaman and others said that there was a single teacher at the Government Primary School Hakeem Topai which had affected the students education and school affairs.

“If Kamran Ali, PST, currently posted at GPS Wanda Mir Alam be transferred to GPS Wanda Hakeem Topai as it is his native village, so he will perform his duties regularly,” Sifatullah said.

They said that the education of their children was already in doldrum due to shortage of teachers in their village school, adding that on the contrary the government had been claiming to improve the education system.

They complained that recently hundreds of PST teachers were recruited in the district but their school was ignored by giving no further teachers to the school that’s why a single teacher was unable to cope with the academic and administrative affairs of the school.
